hi
I’m TJ Jaworski (she/they), a freelance performance artist, somatic movement facilitator, co-director, and choreographer of Slavic-Canadian descent based on the unceded territories of Colorado. My lifelong journey with movement has embraced diverse modalities such as collective composition, release technique, rhythm tap, jazz fundamentals, aerial forms, functional anatomy, immersive theatre, meditation, yoga, and improvisation. I have been deeply influenced by remarkable teachers and mentors including Gene Medler, Eileen Juric, Martha Nichols, Leah Wilks, and Peter Chu, among many other visionary changemakers.
My work has presented in a variety of spaces, including the University of Boulder, Colorado Ballet, Denver School of the Arts, American Dance Festival, Duke University, North Carolina State University, Odd Knock Productions and Soul De Soul Dance Convention. Based in Denver, I serve as the Co-Director of the Courageous Space, a collective offering dance, yoga, socially-conscious, and liberatory movement practices, alongside mindfulness education and rich somatic experiences.
At Courageous Space, I lead two signature programs as Founder and Director: Young Artists Mentorship, where I coach and create with pre-professional dancers, and coCreate, an all-ages dance collective and movement laboratory. Whimsical collaboration, thoughtful perspectives, and vibrant connections form the heartbeat of my work play spaces. I invite you to join me for class soon!
